IS6103A/B

6A, integrated 25mΩ hot-swap protection device with current limiting function

The IS6103A/B is an active circuit protection device with an integrated FET. It is designed as a hot-swap circuit to limit currents, voltages to safe levels during fault conditions. They can effectively prevent overload, short circuit, voltage surge, excessive surge current, and reverse current.

The internal clamping circuit can limit over voltage to a safe fixed maximum value without the need for external components. The IS6103A/B device provides over-voltage protection (OVP) for 5V systems. When there are specific voltage ramp requirements, a single capacitor can be used to program the provided dV/dT pins to ensure appropriate output slope.

The IS6103A/B is designed with programmable current limit. The current limit is programmed by an external resistor connecting from ILIM pin to ground. The current limit level can be set through a single external resistor, with a typical accuracy of ±15% for setting current limits.
